PM Modi Wayanad Visit: Today PM Modi will see the condition of the landslide areas of Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi again demands to declare it a national calamity, PM Modi to visit Wayanad of Kerala to see the extent of damage by landslide Rahul Gandhi again demands to declare it national calamity

Wayanad. More than 300 people have died due to landslide in Wayanad, Kerala. There is a demand from the central government to declare a national disaster in this case. Rahul Gandhi, who was an MP from Wayanad, has raised this demand again. PM Narendra Modi is reaching Wayanad today. Just before his visit, Rahul Gandhi has issued a statement thanking Modi for this visit and said that when the PM himself sees the extent of devastation in Wayanad, he will declare it a national disaster. According to the information, PM Modi will go from Delhi to Kannur. From there, he will board a helicopter and see the areas of Wayanad affected by the landslide. Apart from this, PM Modi also plans to visit some relief camps. More than 10000 people have been kept in these relief camps.

Heavy rains caused a landslide in Wayanad, Kerala on 30th July. Mudakkai, Attamala and Choorlamala villages were hit by the landslide. Due to 57 cm rainfall in 48 hours in Vythari, the Iruvazhnzhi river swelled and a landslide occurred. Due to this, the debris fell into the river and its course changed. The river water and debris caused devastation in the villages. There were two landslides on the night of 30th July. Due to this, people did not get a chance to escape. The bodies of 16 people were carried away by the river for about 50 km. After the disaster in Uttarakhand, now people in Kerala are shocked by this disaster.

Immediately after the landslide in Wayanad, the army was deployed for relief work there. At the same time, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had said in Parliament about this disaster that the Kerala government had already been sent a warning about the landslide, but it did not evacuate people from the affected area of Wayanad. Now everyone’s eyes are on what big decision PM Modi takes for the relief and rehabilitation of the people there after visiting Wayanad.
