US President Donald Trump recently called India’s economy a ‘dead economy’. In response to his tanj, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a strong message from Varanasi and said that India is now moving towards becoming the third largest economy in the world. PM Modi pledged to the countrymen to adopt indigenous and said that now the time has come that every Indian should give priority to the national interest in every purchase.
The Prime Minister clearly said – Now India will also use the same scales to test everything – that is, Indian sweat things. He said that now the time has come when every citizen, every shopkeeper and every consumer of the country should adopt the mantra that we will buy the same which is made in India, which has been coined with Indian hands and in which our country has been sweating. In the era of global instability, making India the third largest economy is not just the government, but the responsibility of every Indian.
The Prime Minister said that today the world economy is going through many apprehensions. There is an atmosphere of instability. In such a situation, the countries of the world are focusing on their own interests. India is also going to become the third largest economy in the world. Therefore, India will also have to be aware of its economic interests. India will also have to give priority to issues like its farmers, small scale industries, youth and employment. He further said, India will now have to be vigilant. There will be only one scale to buy – the one who sweats an Indian citizen. We will buy the same things that are made in India. Indians are made of skills, made by Indian hands. This is the real indigenous for us.
‘Every citizen became a supporter of indigenous’
Prime Minister Modi did not limit this resolution to the government or political parties, but described it as the responsibility of every citizen. He said, the government is making every effort in this direction. But as a citizen of the country, we also have some responsibilities. Not only Modi, every person of India should keep saying this every moment – others should keep telling. Those who want the good of the country, who want to make the country the third largest economy, they will have to leave their hesitation and awaken the spirit of the country every moment in the country – this is the resolve, we have to adopt indigenous. Modi clarified that ‘Wocal for Local’ and ‘Make in India’ will now have to be made a part of practical life, not just slogans.
‘Traders should sell only indigenous goods, this is the true service of the country’
The Prime Minister made a special request to the traders and industry of the country and said, now the time has come that only indigenous products should be sold. He said, I warn the brothers associated with the business world – now only indigenous goods should be sold in our shops. This will be the true service of the country. When new goods come in every house, it should be indigenous, this should be our priority. PM Modi’s statement comes at a time when issues like global trade pressure, Russia-Ukraine War, debate on imports from China and US tariff policy are at the center of discussion on international forums.
