New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today visited the landslide affected areas in Wayanad, Kerala. After this, the PM went to the hospital and met the people injured in the landslide and enquired about their condition. The Prime Minister also went to the shelter home built for the disaster affected people and listened to their stories and consoled them. The Prime Minister held a meeting with the officials regarding the relief work being carried out by the government after the Wayanad disaster. During this, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was also present.

After meeting the disaster victims, the PM said that ever since I heard about this disaster, I have been in touch with them and have been taking information every moment. All the departments of the central government that can be of use in this situation were immediately put to work. Together, we are helping our families who are facing this problem in this terrible disaster. The Prime Minister said that this tragedy is not normal. The dreams of hundreds of families have been destroyed. I have seen the situation by going there as nature has shown its fierce form. I also met the affected families in the relief camp who suffered this disaster, I have heard the complete details of the incident from them.

PM said, I have also met all the patients in the hospital who are going through a difficult time due to various injuries caused by this disaster. In times of crisis when we work together, it gives great results. On the morning of the incident itself, I spoke to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and I told him that we are sending all kinds of help as quickly as possible. Let us tell you that more than 400 people have died in the landslide that happened in Wayanad on July 30. About 150 people are still missing. Rescue operations are going on even today by the Army, NDRF and SDRF.
