New Delhi. During the Lok Sabha elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed an election rally in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. He had come there in support of BJP candidate Neeraj Tripathi. During his speech, Amit Shah said that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) is a part of India and India will regain it. Referring to Aiyar’s statement on nuclear bomb, he said, “Farooq Abdullah and Mani Shankar Aiyar say respect Pakistan because they have nuclear bombs. Rahul Baba, today I declare from the holy land of Prayagraj that PoK is ours, will remain ours and we will take it back.”
Targeting Iyer and opposition
In a video clip purportedly viral on social media, Aiyar can be heard saying that India should respect Pakistan because it is a sovereign nation and should engage with it because it has nuclear bombs. However, Iyer later said that the video was old. The Congress party had already expressed complete disagreement with Aiyar’s comments made months ago. Amit Shah also said that the opposition alliance has been wiped out in the first four phases of the Lok Sabha elections. The Union Home Minister said, “Four phases of voting have been completed. In these four phases, the India block has been wiped out and Modi ji is fast moving towards crossing 400 (Lok Sabha seats).”
