Police sought a bribe of five lakhs to register an FIR, CBI disclosed the whole matter

Crime News Desk !!! The CBI team arrested an inspector and one of his companions of Haryana Police, taking a bribe of five lakhs from a jewelery shop in Chandigarh Sector-23 late on Tuesday evening. The inspector had demanded Rs 30 lakh from the complainant to suppress the case against him.

On the basis of the complaint, the CBI has arrested the accused and registered a case against them under other sections including Prevention of Corruption Act-7 and 8. Both the accused will be presented on demand by presenting them in CBI court today.

According to the information, the accused Inspector is posted in Cybercrime in Haryana Police. He had a complaint. In this, he had demanded Rs 30 lakh for not registering the case. The case was pending with Vigilance but some time ago the investigation of the case was handed over to the CBI.

After a written complaint, a trap was laid by the CBI to catch the accused. The accused inspector reached the jewelery shop in Chandigarh Sector 23 late on Tuesday evening to take the first installment of bribe with a friend.
