Guwahati. Drug trafficking is continuously increasing in the country. Smugglers keep finding new ways to smuggle drugs including heroin every day. Sometimes drug smuggling is carried out in the guise of fruits and vegetables, and sometimes drug smuggling is carried out under the guise of soap and cosmetic items. Recently a similar case has come to light in Assam. Where smugglers tried to smuggle under the guise of soap. But the police, with their vigilance, foiled their attempt. When the police stopped a vehicle and searched it, it was found that heroin was filled inside the soap boxes.
Heroin worth more than Rs 6 crore was seized in Guwahati, Assam on Sunday and two persons were arrested in this connection. Police gave this information. Police said that information was received that ‘dealers’ from Tripura and Manipur were planning to bring huge quantities of drugs into the city. On the basis of the same, a special task force led by Inspector General of Police Parthasarathy Mahant launched an operation and a vehicle was stopped here in Khanpara.
When the police stopped the vehicle, the smugglers tried to pretend that they had only soap in the bag. But when the police searched, it did not take long for their secret to be exposed. A police officer said that during the search, a bag was found in the back seat containing one and a half kilogram of heroin. According to him, this heroin was kept in two soap boxes. According to the officer, the police have arrested two persons who were sitting in the vehicle.
