Syed Habib, Hisar.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the Congress from the airport inauguration platform in Hisar, Haryana – “If there is so much sympathy with Muslims, then why did the Congress not have made a Muslim a national president till date?” – It was not just a rhetorical arrow, but it can be seen as a strategy to once again intensify the debate of majority of minority in Indian politics.
But is a self -realization signal hidden in this question? Is it an indication that in the coming time, the BJP can discuss or experiment within itself about Muslim leadership?
Hidden signal in the message: The scope of minority leadership within BJP?
Prime Minister Modi’s statement can not just criticize the opposition but also a big step towards symbolic politics. The BJP repeatedly mentions that it made APJ Abdul Kalam the President. This historical step claims Moral Alignment with BJP’s Muslim society. In such a situation, is it possible that this statement of Modi is preparing the role of a symbolic appointment of the future – such as to give prominence to the Muslim face on any platform of the party?
Waqf law, puncture, and ‘victim Muslim’ politics
It is clear from the Prime Minister’s Waqf law and the statement of the “bicycle puncture” of the Muslims that the BJP is trying to connect it with the appeasement policy of the Congress by referring to the socio-economic backwardness within the minority community. This statement strengthens the BJP’s political negative in which it says that the Congress considered the minorities as a vote bank, only gave them religious identity but did not give real empowerment.
UCC and Religion Based Reservation: New Definition of Secularism
Modi’s statement was also sharp by the Congress about “reservation on the basis of religion” and opposition to Uniform Civil Code. The purpose of this line is clear – presenting the Congress as anti -constitution and divisive strength. On the other hand, the BJP is repeating its constitutional commitment on issues like UCC and the agenda of equal civil rights.
Creation of ideology in development
Hisar-Ayodhya flight, airport expansion and dream of putting air slippers in a plane-all of these make a picture of dreams of dreams. But when the sharp words of minority politics are added to this development frame, it becomes a mixed package of development + ideology. This makes it clear that the BJP will not limit the 2024 electoral nectar only to infrastructure, but will connect it with ideological issues.
So was it an attack on the Congress or the trailer of a new role from the BJP?
If we analyze Modi’s statement, it works on many surfaces simultaneously-
Putting the Congress in the dock – so that it is forced to prove its secularism practically.
Addressing Muslim society – that BJP can actually give them real equality and opportunity.
The beginning of a new thinking within its party – which can open the way for a symbolic Muslim leadership in the future.
This is a strategic point for BJP, time for introspection for Congress
From a political point of view, this statement of Modi is a two -way game. On the one hand, the opposition is uncomfortable, on the other hand it takes the BJP to an ideology in which it can claim to implement the slogan of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ at the level of political appointments.
Will the BJP give a place to a Muslim leader to the organizational top in future? It is too early to say, but it is so certain that the Prime Minister has sown the seed of thought.
