New Delhi. Britain is going to get its new prime minister soon. This will be the new PM Rishi Sunak who will take oath of office on the coming October 28. This is the first time that a person of Indian origin is going to sit on the post of Prime Minister of Britain. Ever since Indian-origin Rishi Sunak was elected as the PM, he is getting congratulations from the country and the world. On behalf of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated him and also told about the issues in which he wants to work with Rishi Sunak. On one hand, there is happiness in the UK with Rishi Sunak becoming the PM. So at the same time, some political people in India are not deterring their antics even on this special occasion. Shashi Tharoor, who was in the race for the post of Congress President, had questioned India’s position with the help of Rishi Sunak becoming the Prime Minister of Britain and said that ‘can it happen here too’. So at the same time, now taking this sequence forward, former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti has also raised the place. Mufti has raised questions about the rights of minorities and refugees.
What has Mehbooba Mufti said?
Former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti tweeted and wrote, ‘Proud moment when a person of Indian origin will become the PM of UK. On the one hand, where Britain has accepted a person of minority origin as its PM. On the other hand India is still bound by divisive laws like CAA and NRC.
Proud moment that UK will have its first Indian origin PM. While all of India rightly celebrates, it would serve us well to remember that while UK has accepted an ethnic minority member as its PM, we are still shackled by divisive & discriminatory laws like NRC & CAA.

Ravi Shankar Prasad gave a befitting reply to Mehbooba Mufti
Former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has given a befitting reply to this tweet of Mehbooba Mufti. Ravi Shankar Prasad hit back at Mehbooba Mufti and said that after Rishi Sunak was elected as the PM, some leaders have become aware of majoritarianism. I would like to remind them about 5 years of former President Abdul Kalam, 10 years of former PM Manmohan Singh, Draupadi Murmu, a distinguished tribal leader who is our current President. Further Ravi Shankar Prasad also questioned Mufti in which she asked whether Mehbooba would tell that she would accept any minority as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir?
A competent leader of Indian origin Rishi Sunak is becoming the Prime Minister of UK. We all need to compliment him on this extraordinary success. It is tragic that some Indian politicians are unfortunately trying to make a political brownie point on this occasion.
