Amritsar. The political fierce battle over water sharing in Punjab has intensified. The Aam Aadmi Party demonstrated outside the houses of BJP leaders across the state. In this episode, a strong protest was also held under the leadership of Punjab government cabinet minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and Harbhajan Singh ETO outside the residence of BJP leader Tarun Chugh in Amritsar.
The reason for the demonstration is the decision taken by the Bhakra Beas Management Board, which is said to give 8500 cubic meters of Punjab to Haryana. Aam Aadmi Party and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann have strongly opposed this decision. He says that Punjab is already facing a huge water shortage, in such a situation, giving water to another state is a sheer injustice.
Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that the BJP government at the Center has always treated Punjab step by step. When Punjab does not have water for its own fields, then why is its water being given to Haryana? He warned that if the central government does not withdraw this decision, the protests will be even more fierce in the coming days.
At the same time, Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO urged Punjab BJP leaders to clarify their stand on this issue. He questioned whether the Punjab leadership of the BJP will also protect the rights of its state or remain silent? They should come out openly and talk to the Center on this issue.
Explain that the Aam Aadmi Party has alleged that the Central Government is giving water to the part of Punjab to Haryana. According to the ministers of the Punjab government, the BJP government at the Center has cheated Punjab by giving more water to Haryana. He says that the farmers of Punjab are craving for water drops and the BJP is taking revenge on the farmers of Punjab. This move of the Center is against the interests of Punjab.
