Jaipur. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has instructed the officials of the Department of Energy to work in a planned manner to continuously increase power generation, so that adequate and uninterrupted power supply can be ensured to the growing population in the coming years. He said that Rajasthan is progressing rapidly in the energy sector and the state government will ensure electricity availability to farmers in the day by 2027.
Sharma was reviewing the budget announcements of the year 2025-26 of the Energy Department in the Chief Minister’s Office on Wednesday. During this, he gave necessary guidelines while reviewing the renewable energy schemes along with strengthening of the electrical system, ensuring uninterrupted power supply. He also instructed the officials to keep the power supply smooth during the peak demand period for farmers in the upcoming Rabi season. Also, he directed domestic and industrial consumers to ensure uninterrupted and regular power supply.
Ensure timely maintenance of production units
The Chief Minister said that timely maintenance of production units and broadcasting mechanisms should be ensured. Effective steps should be taken by improving the repair, care and use process of transformers. Sharma gave a detailed review of PM Suryaghar Free Power Scheme and gave necessary guidelines on its implementation. Also, he also specially directed to release agricultural connections soon.
Evidence of electricity is ensured up to village-dhani
Sharma said that the state government is constructing the GSS of 30/11 by strengthening the power system, so that electricity can be available to the village-dhani easily. In areas where the subject of land unavailability for GSS has come up, work should be done on getting land from public participation. He inquired and gave guidelines about the progress of strengthening of the power system under the RDSS scheme and the installation of solar plant under the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana.
Make special efforts to increase revenue, prevent sabotage
The Chief Minister also directed the officials to increase revenue and to stop the disaster in transmission and distribution effectively. Sharma said that the responsibility of the employees should be fixed in the event of bad meters. Strict disciplinary action should be taken against the personnel who are careless in state work. Also, the Chief Minister directed to take strict steps to prevent power theft.
Sharma provided appropriate guidelines while discussing the proposed pump storage schemes, operated coal, gas and hydropower projects and battery energy storage system.
Minister of State for Energy (Independent Charge) Hiralal Nagar, Rajasthan State Electricity Generation, Broadcasting and Distribution Corporations and High Officer of Energy Department were present in the meeting.
