New Delhi. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, BJP MP and JPC Speaker Jagdambika Pal, made in the Lok Sabha on the Waqf Bill, supported the bill amidst the sharp reactions of the opposition parties regarding the Waqf Amendment Bill. The bill will be introduced in the Lok Sabha on April 2 and after that various aspects will be discussed.
Union Minister Prahlad Joshi said that the Waqf Amendment Bill has been prepared after extensive deliberations and the purpose of the opposition is only to oppose. He said that the bills have taken care of the interests of all religions and communities in this bill and it is not aimed at grabbing the property or religious site of any community. Joshi said, “This bill is an improvement, which has been brought for the good of people of all classes and religions. We are not targeting anyone, but the opposition and Congress have the traditional attitude that they oppose every good step. It is trying to run a Miss Information Campaign.” He also said that this bill is not against followers of any religion and it is in the interest of all sections of society.
At the same time, JPC (Joint Parliamentary Committee) Chairman and BJP MP Jagdambika Pal, formed in the Lok Sabha on the Waqf Bill, said that the bill has been specially brought to poor Muslims, Pasmanda community, and women. Pal said, “This bill is not only for the Muslim community, but for all the poor and weaker sections of the country. We have talked to stakeholders, schools, bar associations and other senior institutions across the country.” He also said that some people are doing politics about this bill and are trying to spread confusion in the society, such as earlier on NRC, triple talaq and Article 370.
He said about the minority community that the Muslim community maintained peace during the holy month of Ramadan, despite some people tried to spread lies. He said, “Some people were saying that being near this bill will harm mosques and Idgahs. It is completely a lie, I challenge that there is no such provision.” Pal also said that this bill is no reason to spread confusion and fear in the society, and they fully believe that it is in the interest of poor Muslims.
