Election strategist Prashant Kishor met Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Monday amid speculations that he would join the Congress. This is PK’s second meeting with the top Congress leadership in three days. According to the information, on Monday, Prashant Kishor had a meeting with Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Ambika Soni, P Chidambaram, Jairam Ramesh, KC Venugopal and Randeep Singh Surjewala at 10 Janpath for about five hours. Due to the continuous meeting of Prashant Kishori with the Congress leadership, there are speculations that PK may join the Congress.
According to sources, the strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections was discussed in the meeting. It is believed that the Congress also wants Prashant Kishor to join the Congress party before the Lok Sabha elections 2024. According to the information, Prashant Kishor has also given a detailed presentation to the Congress high command in view of the Lok Sabha elections. There is a discussion that the Congress high command does not want to add PK as a consultant, but the party wants PK to join the party and act like a leader. It is also being said that with regard to 2024, PK has given a detailed report to the party about what changes should be made at the organizational level.
According to sources, PK has advised the Congress party to field its candidates in only 370 seats and leave the rest for the alliance partners. It is being said that Prashant Kishor has advised the Congress to contest elections on its own in Bihar, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh but form alliances in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
