Philippines President Ferdinand R. Marcos Junior is currently on a tour of India. He reached the capital Delhi on Monday and will hold a high -level delegation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. Marcos has come to India for five days and on his arrival, he was welcomed by Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margerita. On the second day of the yatra i.e. today, President of the Philippines reached Hyderabad House to meet Prime Minister Modi where he was given a grand welcome. During this, President Draupadi Murmu was also present with the Prime Minister.

The Ministry of External Affairs has given this information by sharing a post on X. He wrote, “India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi warmly welcomed the Philippines President Ferdinand Romaldez Marcos Jr. at Hyderabad House. There is deep relations between India and the Philippines, whose foundation is on our civilization, history and mutual connection between people. There will be comprehensive discussion between the two countries.”
Met Foreign Minister S Jaishankar yesterday
This is Marcos Junior’s first visit to India after taking oath of presidential in 2022. This journey is also considered important because the time of this visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Before meeting the Prime Minister, the President of the Philippines met Foreign Minister S Jaishankar in Delhi on Monday. Jaishankar shared a post on Instagram and informed about this meeting. He wrote, “This evening was happy to meet the President of the Philippines in Delhi, who is starting his state visit. I am confident that his conversation with Prime Minister Modi will deepen our bilateral partnership tomorrow.”
