Address by President Draupadi Murmu
New Delhi: President Murmu mentioned the incidents of paper leak while addressing the joint session of both the houses of Parliament on Thursday. The President said that the government is committed to a fair investigation of the recent incidents of paper leak. The culprits will be given severe punishment. Earlier also we have seen papers being leaked in various states. For this, there is a need for Parliament to rise above party politics and make a strict law.
Honesty is necessary in government recruitments: President
President Draupadi Murmu said that it is the constant effort of the government to ensure that the youth of the country get enough opportunities to showcase their talent. The President said that it is not right to have hindrances in recruitments and examinations for government jobs. Fairness and transparency are very important in this.
The government is working to improve
He said that the Parliament has also made a stringent law against those who indulge in exam malpractices. The government is working towards improving the exam conducting bodies, their working methods and the exam process.
The government is doing this work to make the dreams of the youth come true
Addressing a joint sitting of both the Houses of Parliament for the first time in the 18th Lok Sabha, Murmu said her government was working to create an environment for the country’s youth to dream big and enable them to realise them.
Opposition raised slogans
While she was listing the steps taken by the government on the education front, some opposition members were heard raising slogans over alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The President said the government was committed to conducting a fair inquiry into the recent incidents of paper leak and ensure the strictest punishment to the culprits. She said the government was working to improve the examination process.
