New Delhi. President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed grief over the death of Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan, former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). Former ISRO chief Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan died in Bengaluru on Friday. He breathed his last at his residence in Bengaluru at the age of 84.
It is being told that he died at around 10 am. Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan has been working as the longest ISRO Chief.
President Draupadi Murmu wrote on social media, “It is sad to know that Dr. Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan is no longer with us. He played an important role in the development of India’s space program as the head of ISRO. With his passion for knowledge, he also contributed greatly to diverse fields. He helped prepare the National Education Policy, which is already making a profound impact on the construction of the next generation. My condolences to his family and fans. ”
PM Modi shared the old photo of meeting Kasturirangan on the social media platform X and wrote, “I am a scientific and educational journey of India, Dr. K.K. I am very sad with the death of Kasturirangan. His visionary leadership and his selfless contribution to the nation will always be remembered. He worked hard in ISRO and brought India’s space program to new heights, for which we also got global recognition. Under his leadership, ambitious satellite launch was also taken and focus on innovation. ”
He further wrote, “India will always be grateful to Dr. Kasturirangan’s efforts during the draft of National Education Policy (NEP) and to make education in India more overall and visionary. He was also an excellent guide for many young scientists and researchers. My condolences are with his family, students, scientists and countless fans. ”
