New Delhi. Today Teacher’s Day is being celebrated across the country. This festival is celebrated every year on the 5th of September. Teacher’s Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the first Vice President and second President of the country. On this occasion, teachers are honored every year for their significant contribution in the field of education, which are selected from across the country. This time the country’s President Draupadi Murmu will confer National Awards on 46 teachers of the country, including Rajni Sharma of Delhi, Seema Rani of Chandigarh and Anju Dahiya of Haryana. Apart from this, Yudhveer from Himachal Pradesh, Virendra Kumar from Himachal Pradesh, Harpreet Singh of Punjab, Arun Kumar Garg of Punjab, Shri Kaustubh Chandra Joshi from Punjab, Uttarakhand, Sunita of Rajasthan, Durga Ram Muwal of Rajasthan, Maria Morena of Goa Miranda, Umesh Bharatbhai Vala from Gujarat, Neeraj Saxena from Madhya Pradesh, Shri Om Prakash Patidar from Madhya Pradesh, Mamta Ahar from Chhattisgarh, Kavita Sanghvi from Maharashtra, Ishwar Chandra Nayak from Orissa will be honored.
Apart from this, Buddhadev Dutta of West Bengal, Javid Ahmed Rather of Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Jabir of Ladakh, Khurshid Ahmed of Uttar Pradesh, Saurabh Suman of Bihar, Nishi Kumari of Bihar, Amit Kumar of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Eklavya Model Residential School K Siddhartha Yonzon, Jainus Jacob of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Hi G Ponsankari of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Umesh TP of Karnataka, Mimi Yoshi from Nagaland, Nongmathem Gautam Singh of Manipur, Mala Jigdal Dorji of Sikkim, Gamchi Timre R Marak of Meghalaya, Santosh of Tripura Nath, Meenakshi Goswami from Assam, Shipra from Jharkhand, teacher, Dr. Ravi Aruna from Andhra Pradesh will be given the National Teacher Award.
