President Draupadi Murmu will today confer Bharat Ratna on five eminent personalities, including two former Prime Ministers (posthumously) and veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani. The felicitation ceremony will be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan at 11 am. An official gave this information on Friday. Among the five personalities to be honored with Bharat Ratna, all except former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna, former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh and P.V. Narasimha Rao, eminent agricultural scientist M.S. Swaminathan and former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur will be honored posthumously.
At the same time, let us tell you that due to health, there is less possibility of Lal Krishna Advani’s presence in Rashtrapati Bhavan, in such a situation the President will visit his house on March 31 and give him this honour.
CM Nitish will also be present in the program
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was specially invited by Rashtrapati Bhavan to attend the said ceremony in which Jananayak would be given Bharat Ratna. Karpoori Thakur’s son Ramnath Thakur will inherit his father’s honour. On Karpoori Thakur being honored with Bharat Ratna posthumously, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan said that we all had been demanding for a long time to give Bharat Ratna to Jannayak Karpoori Thakur. I thank the President and PM Modi for conferring Bharat Ratna on Karpoori Thakur.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had posted on Instagram, “Happy to share that our former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao Garu will be honored with the Bharat Ratna. As a distinguished scholar and statesman, Narasimha Rao Garu served India extensively in various capacities. He is equally remembered for his work as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Union Minister and as a Member of Parliament and Legislative Assembly for many years. His visionary leadership It was instrumental in making the country economically advanced and laying a solid foundation for the country’s prosperity and development.”
Announcing the honor to Chaudhary Charan Singh, PM Modi wrote on Twitter, “It is the good fortune of our government that the former Prime Minister of the country Chaudhary Charan Singh is being honored with Bharat Ratna.” This honor is dedicated to his incomparable contribution to the country. He had dedicated his entire life to the rights and welfare of farmers.”
The PM met agricultural scientist M.S. It was also announced to give Bharat Ratna to Swaminathan. He had written, “It is a matter of great pleasure that the Government of India is honoring M.S. Swaminathan ji with Bharat Ratna for his remarkable contribution to agriculture and farmers’ welfare in our country. He has helped India gain self-respect. Played an important role in helping to reduce agriculture dependence during challenging times and made excellent efforts towards modernizing Indian agriculture.”
