President Draupadi Murmu exercised her franchise on Saturday.
New Delhi: There is a huge crowd of people at the polling booths to ensure their participation in the biggest festival of democracy, the Lok Sabha elections. In this episode, the first citizen of India, President Draupadi Murmu also cast her vote. Along with this, many VVIP voters including the Vice President, former President, Chief Election Commissioner exercised their franchise. President Draupadi Murmu stood in the queue of voters and cast her vote at the polling booth of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Kendriya Vidyalaya located in the Rashtrapati Bhavan campus. Let us tell you that this is a pink booth which is being managed by women.
‘Right to vote is both a responsibility and a power’
Former President Ramnath Kovind also cast his vote at a polling booth in Delhi. He said, ‘We are proud to be the world’s largest democratic country. That’s why I want that for the strengthening of democracy, for a developed India, every citizen of the country should cast his vote.’ After casting his vote, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar also said, ‘It is a wonder for the world, how many people vote. Voting is both a responsibility and a power. India is the world’s most vibrant, active and effective democracy.’
‘Youth believe that change must happen’
The 25th Chief Election Commissioner of the country Rajiv Kumar also reached the polling booth to exercise his right to vote and he too cast his vote. Meanwhile, Robert Vadra said after casting his vote, ‘I am very happy that my daughter has left college and come for 2-3 days so that she can exercise her vote. He said that the youth believes that there should be a change. Everyone should vote and give the INDIA alliance a chance.’ On the question of the Prime Minister’s face in the alliance, he said that the country will choose, the alliance will choose.
Many other veterans also cast their votes
Let us tell you that voting is being held on all seven seats in Delhi on Saturday. Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, former MP and former international cricketer Gautam Gambhir, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor and all seven BJP candidates Bansuri Swaraj, Harsh Malhotra, Praveen Khandelwal, Ramveer Singh Bidhuri, Yogendra Chandolia, Kamaljit Sehrawat and Manoj Tiwari, along with many other leaders associated with BJP, RSS and Vishwa Hindu Parishad, also reached their respective polling booths and cast their votes.
