On Friday (April 11, 2025), Prime Minister Narendra Modi directed the officials to take ‘strict’ action in the incident of gang rape of a 19 -year -old woman in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi, where they arrived to inaugurate development projects.
The statement issued by the UP government said, “On arriving at Varanasi airport, the Prime Minister immediately sought detailed information from the Commissioner of Police, Divisional Commissioner and District Magistrate about the recent criminal rape incident in the city. He directed to take strict action against the culprits and to prevent such incidents in future.”
