New Delhi. Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed grief over the helicopter accident in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand. He expressed condolences to the family members who lost their lives in the accident. Priyanka Gandhi appealed to the state government that there should be a thorough review of security standards and safety of passengers should be ensured. Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote on the social media platform X on Sunday, “The news of the death of seven people in the helicopter accident in Gaurikund, Uttarakhand is very sad. Lord Kedarnath should give peace to the departed departed souls. My deep condolences to mourning families. This is the 5th helicopter crash since the Chardham Yatra began. There is an appeal to the state government to have a thorough review of security standards and ensure safety of passengers. ”
Earlier, former Uttarakhand CM and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat also expressed grief over the accident. He wrote in the X post, “The helicopter crash has occurred again in the Kedarnath area and the accident is frightening, all the passengers including the pilot have been covered. All Uttarakhand expresses condolences to the family of the dead. On one hand, the Civil Aviation sector is increasing in the state. This is a good thing and on the other hand accidents are also increasing proportionately, it is worrying.
He further wrote, “Necessary security arrangements should be made based on the conclusions that have come out after investigation in all accidents. If we are negligent, then as a result of this people have lost their lives, then we should ensure that our civil aviation sector is accidentless. Baba Kedar, place all the departed souls in their shrines and give their families the power to bear this unbearable sorrow.
A helicopter crashed in the Gaurikund area of Rudraprayag in Uttarakhand. All 7 people died in this accident. The helicopter took off to Guptkashi at 5:17 am and was returning from Kedarnath with passengers. Officials confirmed that the weather in the area was very bad, due to which the helicopter lost its way and became an accident.
