Tonk. “Beti and tree – both are symbols of life on earth”, an innovative scheme ‘security of creation’ has been launched by Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority (Ralsa), Jaipur on the basis of this sentiment. The purpose of this scheme is not only to empower women and girls, but also to connect environmental protection with social responsibility.
On Saturday, a joint meeting of the concerned departments was organized in Tonk district regarding the implementation of the scheme, which was chaired by the Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority and Additional District and Sessions Judge Dinesh Kumar Jalutharia.
It was informed in the meeting that a proposal has been sent for approval to the State Legal Services Authority by marking the Gram Panchayat Sohela under the ‘Protection of Creation Ki Sarati’. Under this scheme, the family of each girl born in Sohela will have to plant 11 saplings, which will be nurtured by the participation of their family and community.
Judge Jalutharia said – “Daughters should be considered as a boon, not only in the house, not only in the house, even on the earth – this is the soul of this scheme.”
Every girl born will be given the title of “green girl” and a unique identity card will be issued, which will facilitate her with health, education and government schemes. Local women groups will also be added to the scheme to strengthen social participation.
The District Legal Services Authority will not only monitor the plantation, but will also inform the family of “Green Girls” about government schemes, vaccination, nutrition scheme and programs related to education of girls.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Forest Department and the Women and Child Development Department and committed to make the scheme successful with collective efforts. Everyone believes that such innovations are necessary to bring positive thinking towards girls to practical ground.
