Lahore: Babar Azam’s captaincy Peshawar Zalmi’s dream of reaching the final of the Pakistan Super League was shattered. Shaheen Afridi’s Lahore Qalandars won the Eliminator-2 played at the Gaddafi Stadium on Friday night. Now defending champions Lahore will take on Multan Sultans tonight at the same ground. In the match, Peshawar scored 171 runs for five wickets while batting first after winning the toss. In response, Lahore hit the ground by four wickets in seven balls. Captain Babar Azam scored 42 runs in 36 balls, while Mohammad Haris, who landed at number three, scored 85 runs in 54 balls. Opener Mirza Baig scored the highest 54 runs from Lahore.

Peshawar got a big blow in the form of Saim Ayyub on the score of 15. But after this Babar Azam and Mohammad Haris took over the innings. When Babar’s wicket fell in the 12th over, the team’s score was 104 runs. He became LBW on the ball of Rashid Khan. In the last, the Lahore bowlers did well and stopped Peshawar for 171 runs. Zaman Khan gave only 6 runs in the last over.

Lahore had a bad start as well and Fakhar Zaman was dismissed after scoring just 6 runs. Ehsan Bhatti (15) and Abdullah Shafiq (10) also could not play big innings. But Mirza Tahir Baig kept one end in check. He played an inning of 54 runs in 42 balls. Sam Billings scored 28 while Sikandar Raza scored 23 runs. Captain Shaheen Afridi hit a six on the 5th ball of the 19th over to take his team to the final.
