Puja Khedkar news: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the cancellation of the UPSC candidature of trainee IAS Pooja Khedkar, who is surrounded by many controversies. Along with this, she has also been banned from appearing in all future examinations of UPSC. Let us tell you that Maharashtra cadre IAS Pooja Khedkar is accused of misusing the disability and other backward class (non-creamy layer) quota in the civil service examination.

UPSC said that to become an IAS, Pooja Khedkar not only changed her name but also changed the names of her parents. UPSC has said that Pooja Khedkar did not follow the SOP and appeared for the UPSC exam by changing her name. Which is a violation of the SOP. UPSC has also said that the SOP will be strengthened further to prevent such incidents from recurring in future.

Show cause notice was issued
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) had issued a show cause notice on July 18, 2024, after several allegations were leveled against Civil Services Examination-2022 (CSE-2022) candidate and trainee IAS Pooja Khedkar. In this notice, Pooja Khedkar was asked to respond to the allegation of fraudulently attempting the UPSC examination more times than the limit prescribed under the examination rules by forging her identity. Pooja Khedkar had to reply to the show cause notice by July 25, 2024, but she had sought time till August 4, 2024 to collect the necessary documents for her answer.

UPSC, considering the request of Pooja Khedkar, again gave her time till 3:30 pm on July 30, 2024 to respond to the show cause notice and Pooja Khedkar was clearly informed that this is her last chance and no further extension of time will be given. She was clearly told that if no reply is received by the above mentioned date/time, UPSC will take further action without any further reference. Despite the extension of time, she failed to submit her explanation within the stipulated time. After which UPSC decided to cancel the candidature of Pooja Khedkar.
