Pune. A major accident occurred in Pune district on Sunday, where the bridge over the Indrayani river has collapsed. Information about the flow of about 25 to 30 tourists has been revealed in this accident. Actually, this incident is of Maval taluka located in Kundmala in Pune rural area. Kundmala Talegaon is a famous tourist destination near Dabhade town. According to the information, the bridge on the Indrayani river is said to be quite old. Due to Sunday, at the time the accident took place, many tourists were present on the bridge.
After receiving information about the incident, local police, rural and disaster relief personnel reached the spot and started rescue work.
Talking to the media, local resident Raghuvir Shelar said that the incident took place around four and a half hours. More than 100 tourists came to visit the bridge, out of which 20 to 25 people have been rescued by local residents. The disappearance of four to five people has been reported. In addition, some people are still stranded after the bridge collapsed. Help has been sought from the administration to remove them and Hydra can also be called. He said that the rescue people have been sent to the hospital. However, it is not known how many people are drowned in the river.
Let us know that for the last two days, there has been heavy rains in the Mawal area and the water level of Indrayani river has also increased. Currently, relief work is going on to save tourists who fell in the river and two teams of NDRF have also reached the spot.
At the same time, NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule expressed grief over the incident. He wrote in the post on the social media platform X, “The bridge over the Indraini river in Kundamala of Maval taluka in Pune district collapsed. It is feared that some citizens present on the bridge must have swept away. The incident is very unfortunate and I pray to God that all the citizens are safe. Take the necessary precautions.
