As soon as he took over the reins of power in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann took a big decision on Friday to remove unemployment. The Punjab cabinet on Saturday passed a resolution to provide a total of 25,000 government jobs, including 10,000 vacancies in the Punjab Police Department and 15,000 in other government departments.
After the formation of the new government in Punjab, the first meeting of the Bhagwant Mann cabinet was held on Saturday. In this meeting, the first step was taken to remove unemployment in the state. The ministers were administered the oath just before the Punjab cabinet meeting. Ten Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs, including a woman, were included in the cabinet led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Governor Banwarilal Purohit administered the oath of office and secrecy to the ministers at Punjab Bhawan here. Of these 10 ministers, eight have become MLAs for the first time. All of them took oath in Punjabi language. The oath was administered to Harpal Singh Cheema, Harbhajan Singh, Dr. Vijay Singla, Lal Chand, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hair, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, Laljit Singh Bhullar, Brahm Shankar Zimpa, Harjot Singh Bains and Dr. Baljit Kaur. There are 18 posts in the cabinet including the Chief Minister.
After taking oath as the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann had said that he would first work to remove unemployment in the state. He said that the first priority of his government would be to remove unemployment. So that people do not have to wander for employment.
