Chandigarh. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday said that he has received a complaint on the recently launched anti-corruption helpline. In a tweet, he said, “I have received a complaint on our Anti-Corruption Action Helpline. Directed officials to investigate immediately, those seeking bribe will face dire consequences. Corruption will no longer be tolerated in Punjab.”
The anti-bribery helpline 9501 200 200 has received around 20,000 complaints so far. However, most of these do not have audio or video evidence to support their claim.
Taking strong cognizance of complaints received on the helpline number, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has issued orders to register a case against a clerk of the Tehsil office in Jalandhar.
AAP spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang and state joint secretary Sunny Ahluwalia told the media that the government is continuously taking public-friendly decisions and the Chief Minister on Friday made a major change in the formula for pension to legislators to cut several pensions of MLAs ‘one MLA’. Announced ‘One Pension’.
Ahluwalia said that Mann has taken a historic decision by making a big change in the formula for pension to MLAs and ministers.
Now one MLA will get only one pension. He said that the decision of the Punjab government was laudable as the people of Punjab had been demanding for a long time to stop many pensions of the MLAs.
Ahluwalia said that with this decision, the government will save about Rs 80 crore in five years and this money will be spent on public welfare.
