The NCB has taken strong action against Punjab’s notorious drug smuggling kingpin Akshay Chhabra and Jaspal Singh alias Goldie. They have now been sent to Dibrugarh jail in Assam under the PITNDPS law related to drugs. This will effectively stop the activities of drug smugglers Akshay Chhabra and Jaspal Singh alias Goldie. The NCB had already arrested Akshay Chhabra and Jaspal Singh alias Goldie and sent them to jail, but both of them were running the drug business through their agents while staying in jail. Due to which 3 more FIRs were registered against Akshay Chhabra under the NDPS Act and 1 additional FIR was registered against Jaspal Singh. The NCB then decided to send both the drug smugglers from Punjab to Dibrugarh jail in Assam. So that their drug smuggling business could be completely broken. Earlier on August 13, 2024, the NCB had taken action against another drug smuggling kingpin of Punjab, Balwinder Singh alias Billa Havelian.
In the case filed against these drug smugglers, the NCB has cited the recovery of large consignments of drugs 7 times. According to the NCB, on November 15, 2022, 20.326 kg of heroin was recovered from Dugri in Ludhiana. On November 16, 2022, 0.2 grams of heroin, 17 grams of opium and 2 live cartridges were found from Nitesh Vihar in Ludhiana. On November 26, 2022, the NCB recovered 7.750 kg of heroin and 4 live cartridges along with a magazine from Mankwal in Ludhiana. On November 26, 2022, 1.140 grams of heroin and 23.645 kg of narcotic substance caffeine along with 1 bottle of suspicious chemical and 4 bottles of hydrochloric acid were recovered from Baba Deep Singh Nagar in Ludhiana. It is used in making drugs. At the same time, on November 29, 2022, the NCB recovered 0.090 grams of opium from booth number 93 of Phase-2 market of Dugri in Ludhiana. On the same date, 5.520 kg heroin, 0.450 grams of opium and 25 live cartridges were recovered from shop number 96 of New Galla Mandi in Ludhiana. On December 25, 2022, the NCB also recovered 5.200 kg of heroin from shop number 11 of the same Galla Mandi. This shows how big a drug business Akshay Chhabra, Jaspal Goldie and Balwinder Singh alias Billa were running in Punjab.
When the NCB investigated the activities of these drug smuggling kingpins of Punjab, it found that these criminals from Ludhiana are connected to an international drug syndicate. They smuggled more than 2000 kg of heroin through the Attari border with Pakistan in Punjab and the Mudra port of Gujarat as well as Jammu and Kashmir. In this case, the NCB has arrested 20 people including Akshay Chhabra. These include white collar people, 2 citizens of Afghanistan and people doing hawala business. The NCB also exposed the 2 secret factories of this drug smuggling gang, where they used to make heroin. Now you see what is the level of the 4 cases registered by the NCB against Akshay Chhabra, the kingpin of the drug business.
Even the NCB has accused Akshay of selling drugs in Patiala jail. When this was revealed, he was transferred to Bathinda jail on 20 April 2024. Before Patiala jail, Akshay Chhabra was kept in Ludhiana jail. There too he was found smuggling drugs. About Akshay Chhabra, the kingpin of the drug business, the NCB has found out that his network is in Afghanistan, Pakistan, UAE and many states of North India.
