Gurjit Aujla said that there is a lot of displeasure among the people of eastern section about Sidhu. The reason for this can also be due to not paying attention to one’s light during the last five years. During this, Sidhu kept his distance from the people of his community. Sidhu has used harsh words for other leaders many times, which has increased the resentment among the people towards him.

SAD fielded Majithia in front of Sidhu
Shiromani Akali Dal has fielded Bikram Singh Majithia against Navjot Singh Sidhu in Amritsar East assembly seat. The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded former IAS officer Jagmohan Singh Raju from this seat. Jeevanjot Kaur is contesting from Aam Aadmi Party. In the hottest seat Amritsar East, people came out less on the day of polling and only 65.05 percent voter turnout took place here.
