Punjab Election Result 2022 LIVE Updates. Counting of votes has started in Punjab and Aam Aadmi Party is leading in the initial trends. On the other hand Navjot Singh Sidhu, the prominent face of the Congress party, is running at number three. Sidhu had contested from Amritsar East and is currently trailing. It is worth mentioning that Navjot Singh Sidhu was also told as losing in the exit polls. It was told in the exit poll that neither Navjot Sidhu is getting victory in Amritsar seat nor Akali Dal’s candidate Bikram Singh Majithia. Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate Jeevan Jeet Kaur was declared the winner in the exit polls.
Apart from this, Congress party’s anger and former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, who formed a separate party, is also trailing in the initial trend. Captain Amarinder Singh contested the elections in alliance with the BJP. Significantly, the Election Commission said that the counting of votes for the Punjab Assembly elections has also started in every district at 8 am. First the counting of postal ballots is being done and after that the counting of EVMs will start.
Total 117 seats in Punjab, majority figure is 59
Significantly, in the Punjab Assembly, voting was held for a total of 117 seats and for the formation of the government here, 59 seats would be required. This time it was a multi-cornered contest in Punjab. Although the exit polls are predicting the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government, on the other hand the new party of former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, who left the Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal and formed a separate party, is also claiming victory.

The results of the exit polls have also been released after the last phase of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. According to India Today and Axis My India exit polls, the possibility of Aam Aadmi Party formation in Punjab was predicted. Most of the exit polls had predicted the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab. On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi had rejected the results of the exit polls and said that they should wait for the election results till 10th.
