India won a total of five medals in the Paris Olympics 2024. Which includes one silver and four bronze medals. Neeraj Chopra has won the only silver medal for India this time. Neeraj Chopra performed very well for India and won his second Olympic medal in the men’s javelin throw event. Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020, but this time Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan won the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw event. He has won the gold medal for Pakistan after 40 years. Now the Chief Minister of Pakistan’s Punjab province Maryam Nawaz has announced a cash prize of 10 crore Pakistani rupees for Arshad Nadeem.

Nadeem did not have money

Arshad Nadeem was in a lot of trouble a few months before the Olympics started. He did not have the money to buy a new javelin for the Olympics. Then he had to take the help of crowd funding. Maryam also said that a sports city will be built in Arshad’s hometown Khanewal in his name. Nadeem had to plead for a new javelin before the Paris Olympics even after winning medals in the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games. Arshad’s old javelin had deteriorated after years of use. After winning the medal in the Olympics, Nadeem said that he would build a proper academy for athletes in or around his village.

Arshad’s father said this

Arshad Nadeem’s father Muhammad Arshad said that he is thankful to Allah for giving Nadeem so much popularity. He hoped that this Olympic gold medal will now help him in his effort to build a sports academy for players in the rural area. General Muhammad Akram Sahi, who headed the national athletics body in Pakistan for many years, is confident that Arshad’s achievement will increase the popularity of athletics in the country. He said that he wants to see many more Arshad Nadeems winning medals for Pakistan. He said that when Neeraj Chopra emerged, he made a big impact on non-cricket players in India and hoped that the same will happen in Pakistan.
