Chandigarh Incidents of theft and robbery in Punjab’s Tarn Taran region are continuously increasing. But the administration is trying its best to control it. The police have arrested two people, thwarting sensational offenses. According to the police, the encounter took place on Javanda Road when the police had blocked the area. During the blockade, two suspected persons Mahakpreet Singh and Yuvraj, who are said to be members of the Jaisal Chambal and the power Naushera gang, started firing on the police. Police fired back in self -defense, injuring both the miscreants. The injured were immediately detained and admitted to the civil hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
Punjab’s DGP said in a post on social media platform X on Friday, “Punjab’s Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and Tarn Taran police arrested terrorists Landa Harike and two major colleagues of gangster power Naushera, Yuvraj alias Jaggu and Mahekpreet alias Mahek, after a encounter near Javanda village of Taran Taran.”
The DGP said that during the joint operation, the accused opened fire on the police near Javanda village. Two accused were injured by a bullet in police retaliation. He was immediately arrested and admitted to Tarn Taran’s Civil Hospital for treatment. A Glock 9mm with a live cartridge and a PX 30 .30 Caliber Pistol have been recovered from the accused.
Both the accused were being instructed to commit target killings in Punjab by foreign masters. He further said that two people were arrested, thwarting sensational crimes in Punjab. The Punjab Police is committed to abolishing organized crime and ensuring public safety.
