State Minister of State for Cooperation (Independent Charge) Gautam Kumar Dak said on Wednesday that the period for purchasing moong and soybean at support price in the Kharif season 2024-25 in the state has been extended till February 4. He told that Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma had written a letter to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India to extend the procurement period in view of the problems being faced by the farmers of the state in selling the support price of moong.
Dak said that the farmers who have already registered for weighing their produce at support price for moong and soybean will now be able to get their produce weighed at the designated weighing center till February 4, 2025. He said that till now 86488 farmers had registered for moong and out of them, 1.42 lakh metric tons of moong had been purchased from 70619 farmers and for soybean, 42956 farmers had registered and 68747 metric tons of soybean had been purchased from 26328 farmers. The purchase has been made.
He informed that the procurement of groundnuts will continue till the predetermined date of February 15, 2025. He said that at present there is a rainy and stormy season in the state, hence instructions have been issued to make necessary arrangements for the safety and storage of the purchased commodities. He said that instructions have been given to all the in-charges to ensure that the farmers do not face any problem at the weighing centres.
Rajfed Managing Director Narayan Singh said that after weighing the commodities of the eligible farmers, the weighing center in-charges have been directed to upload the weighing slips in the software till the last date of purchase so that the purchases under the support price scheme can be recorded. . He said that after depositing the purchased commodities in the respective warehouses, instructions have also been given to deposit their deposit receipts at the headquarters.
