Former Indian cricketer Anshuman Gaekwad passed away
Former Indian cricketer and one-time head coach of the team, Anshuman Gaekwad passed away on the evening of 31 July. Gaekwad was battling cancer for a long time. He was suffering from blood cancer for which he was undergoing treatment in London. BCCI also provided financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to Gaekwad’s family for treatment. Anshuman Gaekwad has played the role of coach of the Indian team twice. Talking about his career, he made his debut for Team India in Tests in the year 1974. He played a total of 40 Test matches in which he scored 1985 runs at an average of 29.63.
