Ragging in DAVV Indore: Indore (Naiduniya Representative). A student of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya’s Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) has complained of ragging. He has accused the senior students living in the hostel of harassing him. A complaint has been lodged on the Anti Ragging Helpline of the University Grants Commission (UGC) in the matter. UGC also informed about this to Bhanwarkuan police station. Whereas IET has called a meeting of Anti Ragging Committee on Wednesday. After two years, classes have started in the university.
Within just three months, the incident of ragging in IET has come to the fore. A junior student pursuing BE has accused some senior students living in the hostel of harassing her. Director Dr. Sanjeev Tokekar said that anti-ragging committee has been called after the complaint, in which the entire matter will be taken from the aggrieved student. Even senior students will be questioned.
Ragging happened before
This is not the first case of ragging in IITs. In the past, IET students residing in the hostel have complained of ragging. In 2018, 15 students were expelled from the hostel in a case related to ragging. There were complaints of ragging in 2019 as well, after investigation the complaint was found to be false.
