Amid the devastation in Wayanad, Kerala, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi have postponed their visit, after which BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala has taken a dig at Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. A video was shared from a social media account. In the video, Shahzad Poonawala said that when they want seats, votes, they remember South India, Kerala and Wayanad. When brother could not win from Amethi, he went to Wayanad. Sent sister to Wayanad to contest the election. But, today when Wayanad, Kerala needs you, you are looking the other way with closed eyes.

‘RSS came forward to help the people’

He said, “These people are making excuses and avoiding going there. And on the other hand, RSS has come forward to help people in this natural and man-made disaster. He said that NDRF teams are also engaged in rescue operations. The death toll in this disaster has reached 205.”

‘Rahul Gandhi had closed his eyes’

Shahzad Poonawala said that the question should be asked as to why this man-made disaster happened. Why did this situation arise, because there green areas were destroyed and illegal construction was done. Most of the resorts were built illegally. When all this was happening, the local MP Rahul Gandhi had turned a blind eye. The government there allowed illegal construction. Today such a big crisis has come upon the people of Kerala and Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are missing.

What did Rahul say?

Here, Rahul Gandhi posted on Twitter a few days ago. He wrote that Priyanka and I were going to Wayanad yesterday to meet the families affected by the landslide and take stock of the situation. However, due to continuous rain and adverse weather conditions we were informed by the authorities that we would not be able to land the plane. I want to assure the people of Wayanad that we will go there as soon as possible. In the meantime, we will closely monitor the situation and provide all necessary assistance.
