Gopalganj Scheduled Caste-Tribe Welfare Minister Janak Ram of the Government of Bihar said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had entered the Kalyan Hostel illegally and in a holy manner in the course of visit to Darbhanga. He said in a press conference in Gopalganj that Rahul Gandhi had tried to forcibly enter the Ambedkar Kalyan hostel of Darbhanga. Neither the district administration nor the concerned department gave them any permission.
He said that Rahul Gandhi had entered the hostel illegally and completely political drama. Despite being refused by the administration, he forcibly entered, which is a completely violation and hooliganism of the law.
The minister further informed that law-proclaimed action has been taken in this matter. An FIR has been lodged against Rahul Gandhi and an investigation is going on that which administrative officials were negligent in the matter. Strict departmental action will be taken against all the officials found guilty in this incident. We cannot keep the law at any cost, whether it is a common citizen or a big leader.
Minister Janak Ram also said that this matter is not only political, but it is an attempt to challenge the constitutional system of the state. If any person is found to be involved in this type of illegal activity in future, then the government will take strict action.
On 15 May, Rahul Gandhi reached Ambedkar Kalyan Hostel Complex in Darbhanga and addressed the people there.
After this, District Welfare Officer Alok Kumar has been suspended by the Additional Secretary of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department of the state. He has been accused of ignoring departmental guidelines, administrative negligence, dutylessness and arbitrariness.
