New Delhi . Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi paid tribute on the birth anniversary of Babu Jagjivan Ram on Saturday. The birth anniversary of Babu Jagjivan Ram is also celebrated as Samata Day on 5 April in the country. This day reminds the life and contribution of senior freedom fighter, socialist symbol and pioneer of social justice.
On this occasion, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, along with several senior Congress leaders, went to the tomb of former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram and paid tribute to him.
Rahul Gandhi posted on social media platform X. He wrote in the post, “Regraditional tribute to Babu Jagjivan Ram ji on his birth anniversary. Babu ji dedicated his entire life to the rights of underprivileged, exploited and Dalits. He strengthened his rights and participation and strengthened the country’s democratic and constitutional values.”
He said, “His thoughts and struggles will always inspire us.”
Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge paid tribute to the great freedom fighter, social justice pioneer and former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram Ji on his birth anniversary on his birth anniversary.
Kharge further said, “Babu ji, the great hero of equality, fought selflessly for justice and the upliftment of the weak, oppressed and backward classes of the society and made an unforgettable contribution towards strengthening the parliamentary democracy.”
He posted on social media platform X. He wrote in the post, “Babu Jagjivan Ram Ji was a great personality who dedicated five decades in the fight against the rights and caste discrimination of the exploited classes. His commitment to social justice was complete. As a freedom fighter and a skilled administrator, he also played an important role in the 1971 Bangladesh liberation struggle.”
In the second post, he wrote, “On the birth anniversary of great freedom fighter, pioneer of social justice and former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram Ji on Samata Day, the great tribute to him on the birth anniversary. The great, Babu ji of Samata, Babuji struggled with the upliftment of the society’s weak, exploited and backward classes and made the implementation for the strength of parliamentary democracy.”
