New Delhi. Monsoon rains have worsened the situation in many states of the country. Especially Maharashtra and Gujarat are receiving heavy rainfall. Earlier, due to rains, lakhs of people had to face the havoc of floods in the Northeast. Now the Meteorological Department has made a fresh forecast about the rains. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are expected in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, UP, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Goa and Karnataka in the next few days.

According to the Meteorological Department, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha are also going to receive heavy rains. Heavy to very heavy rains may occur in the areas of Central India for the next 2 days. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has also predicted heavy rains in the coastal areas. Heavy rains are expected in 42 districts of UP. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a yellow alert for heavy rain in Kanpur city, Kanpur Dehat, Kannauj, Agra, Firozabad, Mathura, Etawah, Mainpuri, Auraiya, Bareilly, Rampur, Shahjahanpur, Pilibhit, Jalaun, Jhansi, Hamirpur, Lalitpur, Banda, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Chitrakoot, Chandauli, Sonbhadra, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Maharajganj, Gonda, Kushinagar, Shravasti and Balrampur.

Heavy rains may occur in 6 districts including Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand adjoining UP. According to the Meteorological Department, people may have to face heavy to very heavy rains in Nainital, Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Tehri Garhwal districts in the next 2 days. Information has also been received about the water level of the Ganges river continuously rising in Uttarakhand. 2 people died due to cloudburst and landslide in Budhakedar of Tehri district. Whereas, a woman and her daughter are reported missing. At the same time, heavy rains are expected in most parts of another hilly state Himachal Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Himachal Pradesh from Monday to August 2. 10 roads are closed in Himachal Pradesh. Efforts are being made to open them.
