New Delhi. The Meteorological Department has once again issued a warning about heavy rain. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Jammu region, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Western UP, Punjab, Haryana till August 24. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in all areas of Himachal Pradesh. It has also said that incidents of lightning may also occur in Himachal Pradesh. There are also chances of thunder and lightning during rain in Himachal.
The Meteorological Department has said that heavy rains with thunderstorms may occur in eastern Uttar Pradesh from 21 to 24 August and in eastern Rajasthan from 22 to 24 August. The Meteorological Department has also expressed the possibility of very heavy rains in many places in both these states. The Meteorological Department has said in its forecast that a low pressure area has formed in the southern part of Bangladesh. It is likely to intensify. Due to which heavy rains may occur in Jharkhand, Bihar and Odisha besides the coastal areas of the Ganges river in West Bengal. The Meteorological Department has also said that there will be heavy rains in the areas adjoining the Himalayas in West Bengal. Apart from Maharashtra and Goa, rains are also likely in some areas of Gujarat.
According to the Meteorological Department, it will continue to rain in the southern Indian states of Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. However, only light to moderate rain will be seen in these states. Earlier, there was a period of torrential rain in the southern states. Even due to heavy rains, hundreds of people lost their lives in 4 villages due to a massive landslide in Wayanad district of Kerala. The Meteorological Department has already said that this year, in the monsoon season, more than average rain will be seen across the country till the end of September. Till 2023, the period of rain was seen to be very less.
