Jaipur. Monsoon rains have caused devastation in Rajasthan. Due to torrential rains in various areas of the state, people are floating in water like straws. Due to heavy rains in many areas including Jaipur, Bharatpur, Karauli and Hindaun on Sunday, more than 25 people were swept away in rivers, drains and dams. They died due to this. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert of very heavy rain in Dausa, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Sikar, Sawai Madhopur and Tonk today. Along with this, a warning of heavy rain has been issued in 11 districts. Schools have been closed in six districts including Jaipur.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a strong possibility of very heavy rain in seven districts including Jaipur today. At the same time, heavy rain may occur in Ajmer, Alwar, Baran, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bundi, Dholpur, Jhalawar, Kota, Churu and Nagaur. A yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued for these districts. There is also a possibility of rain in Bikaner, Hanumangarh and Sri Ganganagar of the state. Flood-like conditions have arisen in Bharatpur, Hindaun, Karauli and Jaipur due to the rain on Sunday. After the day-long rain in Jaipur on Sunday, drizzle continued throughout the night. On Monday morning, heavy rain started again.
Monsoon will remain active for the next four-five days
According to the Meteorological Department, the circulation system is still present over the area around north-eastern Rajasthan. It is likely to remain at this place for the next three days. Due to its effect, monsoon will remain active in many parts of Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer and Kota divisions of eastern Rajasthan for the next 5-6 days. Therefore, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in these areas. Heavy rain may also occur at some places in western Rajasthan during the next four-five days.
Torrential rain caused huge loss of life and property
There has been a huge loss of life and property due to the torrential rain on Sunday. Dozens of people were washed away in the water, while thousands of people’s houses and shops were flooded, causing losses worth crores of rupees. Orders have been issued to keep schools closed today in six districts including Jaipur, Karauli, Bharatpur and Tonk. Roads are blocked due to waterlogging in many places in these districts. In view of the rain, the state government is on alert mode. Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant has called an important meeting of senior officials yesterday and instructed them to keep an eye on the situation and speed up the relief work.
