Heavy rain alert in 18 states
Rain havoc continues in almost all areas including the country’s capital Delhi. Heavy rain is falling in most parts of the country and flood-like conditions have arisen in many places. Many people have died due to rain in different states of the country. 32 people have died in North India. In Rajasthan too, 20 people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents.
Heavy damage has been caused by the floods caused by rain in Una, Himachal Pradesh. Bodies of 3 people have been recovered. Relief and rescue operations are underway. Rain has been continuing in Jaipur since morning. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rainfall. All schools in Jaipur have been closed. 7 children died due to drowning in water in Bharatpur.

32 deaths in North India
Heavy rains in north and north-west India on Sunday triggered landslides, disrupted traffic, collapsed houses and killed at least 32 people in rain-related incidents. At the same time, several villages were submerged due to the breaking of a dam in Haryana. The annual Amarnath Yatra was stopped after heavy rains in Shri Amarnathji Yatra area of Jammu and Kashmir. Heavy rains occurred in north and north-west India for the second consecutive day and Rajasthan has reported the highest number of deaths at 16 in the last two days. Nine people, including eight members of a family, died in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, when their vehicle was swept away in a rain drain. Heavy rains also occurred in central, south, south-east and east Delhi, leading to waterlogging and traffic jams at many places. Officials said that a seven-year-old child drowned in a water-filled park in Sector 20 of Rohini in Delhi. He said that seven reports of waterlogging and four of falling trees were received in the national capital. Traffic remained disrupted on the Najafgarh-Phirni road near Dhansa stand and Bahadurgarh stand. Gurugram received 70 mm of rain during the day.
Three girls died in Himachal
Three girls were killed and a person is missing in rain-related incidents in Himachal Pradesh. Landslides and flash floods triggered by heavy rains in the last two days have blocked more than 280 roads in the state. Two people were killed in Jalaun in Uttar Pradesh. A woman and her seven-year-old son died when the roof of a house collapsed in Koch area due to heavy rains in Jalaun. The flow of the Mandakini river stopped for some time on Sunday due to a massive landslide at Bhimbali in Rudraprayag in Uttarakhand. In the south, flood warning has been issued for the downstream part of the Pampa Sagar Dam on the Tungabhadra river at Koppal in Karnataka after the chain of the 19th gate broke and a huge amount of water was released. Water Resources Department sources said that for the repair work, they will have to empty the reservoir from its existing capacity of 105 TMC to 65 to 55 TMC. The India Meteorological Department said in a bulletin on Sunday evening that ‘exceptionally heavy rainfall’ was recorded in Karauli (38 cm) in Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar also received heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places.
