On Thursday evening and late night, there was so much rain in Delhi NCR that the roads were submerged. Vehicles were seen crawling on the water-filled roads. People shared the visual of the rain on social media. IMD has predicted rain in Delhi NCR on Friday as well.
In view of heavy rains in Delhi, Noida, Faridabad and surrounding areas, IMD has issued a red alert for five states including Delhi NCR. The monsoon trough is formed in Delhi and surrounding areas. Due to this, heavy monsoon rains are occurring in North India. Especially in the mountains. The situation has become very bad due to rain in Himachal and Uttarakhand. Houses have been submerged in water due to heavy rains in the mountains. The army has continued the rescue operation in these areas.
Heavy rain in next 24 hours
In view of the monsoon conditions, the IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, Odisha, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur. The Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms along with lightning at isolated places over East Rajasthan.
