At the same time, a total of 338 roads including four national highways have been closed in Himachal Pradesh due to floods and landslides. Officials gave this information. Officials said on Monday that many areas of Una have been submerged due to rain. He said that a rescue operation is being carried out to find about 30 people missing after the floods in Kullu, Mandi and Shimla districts on July 31, but no major success has been achieved.
More than 100 people have died so far
Over 100 people have died in rain-related incidents between June 27 and August 9 and the state has suffered losses of about Rs 842 crore, officials said. The State Emergency Operations Centre said 104 roads were closed in Shimla, 71 in Mandi, 58 in Sirmaur, 55 in Chamba, 26 in Kullu, seven each in Solan and Lahaul and Spiti, five in Kinnaur, four in Kangra and one in Bilaspur district. A total of 338 roads are closed across the state. They said 488 power and 116 drinking water schemes were affected on Monday.
Alert issued for these districts
The regional meteorological office has issued a ‘yellow’ alert for heavy rains in different parts of the state till Saturday and has also predicted floods in parts of Chamba, Kinnaur, Sirmaur and Shimla districts till Tuesday. The weather department said that since Sunday evening, 115 mm of rain was recorded at Nagal Dam, while 87 mm was recorded at Kasauli, 56 mm at Una, 82.2 mm at Naina Devi, 75.4 mm at Jaton Barrage, 72.5 mm at Naidun, 62 mm at Paonta Sahib, 60.6 mm at Sujanpur Tira and 56.5 mm at Dhaulkuan. Flash floods and landslides were reported from Chamba, Mandi, Kinnaur, Shimla, Sirmaur and Solan districts, officials said. (Input- Agency)
