Rain Update: It is raining intermittently in Delhi-NCR. There will be similar chances of rain in Delhi in the coming days. Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that moist easterly winds have become stronger in and around the national capital. Conditions for light to heavy rains are prevailing in some parts of Delhi.
It is worth noting that due to the effect of monsoon, heavy rains are falling in northern India, especially in the hilly areas, the rain is getting fierce. Due to cloudburst, the risk of floods has increased in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. At the same time, due to heavy rains, flood situation has arisen in Jodhpur and Kekri of Rajasthan. On the other hand, schools have been declared closed in Tonk, Bhilwara and Ajmer districts.
There is a possibility of heavy rain in Delhi
The IMD said that a low pressure area has formed over northeastern Rajasthan and northwest Madhya Pradesh. This feature of the weather system has kept the seasonal monsoon trough south of its normal position and over Delhi. Due to this, moist easterly winds have strengthened in and around the national capital. There is a possibility of light to heavy rain in some parts of Delhi from the second half of the day i.e. after 12 o’clock till evening.
Rain in next 24 hours
IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rains over North Gujarat and South Rajasthan during the next 24 hours. Heavy rains are also likely over Central Maharashtra, North Konkan and Goa and South Gujarat. Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha may receive light to moderate rains with heavy rains at some places.

IMD said that light to moderate rain is likely in Sikkim, North-East, Western Gujarat, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Western Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi.
