New Delhi. In a major action, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) attached movable and immovable properties worth Rs 97.79 crore of businessman Raj Kundra. Raj Kundra is the husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty. ED has taken this action under the provisions of PMLA, 2002. The properties of Ripu Sudan Kundra alias Raj Kundra that have been attached include a residential flat located in Juhu, Mumbai which is currently in the name of Shilpa Shetty, and a bungalow located in Pune, Maharashtra. Apart from this, some equity shares in the name of Raj Kundra have also been attached by the Enforcement Directorate.

Raj Kundra was accused that M/s Variable Tech Private Limited and the MLM agents involved in it had taken bitcoins worth about Rs 6600 crore from investors on the basis of fake promises in the year 2017. Investors were assured that they would be given 10 percent returns through these bitcoins. Raj Kundra is also accused of using Bitcoin mining for personal interests. Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate had registered a case of money laundering against Raj Kundra in connection with the production and dissemination of pornography films. In this case, Raj Kundra was arrested on July 19, 2021 for allegedly making obscene films. However, on September 20, Raj Kundra was granted bail by a Mumbai court on a bond of Rs 50,000.
ED had alleged that Raj Kundra created a company named Arms Prime Media Limited and an app named Hotshots in February 2019. Hotshots app was actually a platform for porn movies. The money earned through subscribers was transferred in the name of Raj Kundra’s company Viaan Industries. The Hotshots app was later sold to Kenrin, a UK company. The CEO of UK-based company Kenrin is Pradeep Bakshi, who is Raj Kundra’s brother-in-law. An agreement was signed with Kundra’s company Kenrin to maintain the Hotshots app. For this, transactions worth crores of rupees were made in 13 bank accounts of Viaan Industries.
