Jaipur. After the recent defeat of Rajasthan Royals, the politics of cricket in the state has once again become hot. Jaydeep Bihani, a convenor and BJP MLA of the Adhoc Committee of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), has issued a statement on Sunday night making serious allegations against the team management and the State Sports Council. Bihani described the previous match of Rajasthan Royals as a “potential conspiracy” and questioned how the match team lost? He described this defeat in suspicion and said behind it “the well-thought out strategy to marginalize the Rajasthan Cricket Association”.
List of allegations long
Bihani says that the Sports Council set up by the state government is deliberately keeping RCA away from IPL events. Even the members of the Adhoc Committee were not even given an Accreditation Card, while the card was issued to the Secretary of a District Cricket Association.
He alleged that earlier RCA used to provide matches to CMO, Council of Ministers, officials, former players and all district associations, but this time RCA was completely isolated from the event.
Accused of intervention in the operation of cricket
Bihani targeted Sports Secretary Neeraj Kumar Pawan and said that he is trying to destabilize the Adhoc Committee of RCA. He argued that if the committee was formed only for the election, then why was his term extended again and again?
He claims that the government has full faith in the work done by the committee for the development of cricket in the state and this belief remains intact.
Direct doubt on Rajasthan Royals
Bihani directly doubted the last defeat of Rajasthan Royals. He said, “Don’t know how the team lost the winning match. Which signs are going on and what will affect the young players of the state?”
Annexage over payment
He also alleged that RCA pitch curator, ground staff and equipment were used to organize IPL, but they have not been paid till now. Whereas Rajasthan Royals have paid crores of fare to Sports Council for Sawai Man Singh Stadium.
Questions raised on future action
Bihani also asked why no action has been taken so far on the FIR lodged against the former RCA executive? He said that if the sports council is so vigilant then why is it silent on it?
Will the picture of state cricket change or will be more entangled?
It is clear from this rhetoric that a separate “political match” continues outside the field for organizing the IPL. It remains to be seen whether there is an official investigation of these allegations or this matter will also continue to roll here and there by becoming a ball of controversies.
