Rajasthan The government has received investment proposals worth more than Rs 5.21 lakh crore (about $62 billion) within two weeks of announcing the dates of the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Investor Summit-2024. According to the official statement, the Investment Promotion Bureau (BIP) has received these proposals from major corporate companies of the country and abroad. BIP is the nodal department of this investment summit. These industrial projects are expected to provide direct employment to about 1.55 lakh people. According to the statement, these investment proposals of Rs 5.21 lakh crore received by the state government are more than 33 percent of the current economy of Rajasthan.
Rajasthan’s economy is Rs 15.28 lakh crore
Rajasthan’s economy is estimated to be Rs 15.28 lakh crore (at current prices) in 2023-24. The Rajasthan government will organize the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Investor Summit 2024 in the capital Jaipur on 9, 10 and 11 December this year. The objective of this three-day summit is to attract big and small companies, international institutions and investors from the country and abroad to come and work in the state, and to help set up various types of industries in the state. Rajasthan’s Industry and Commerce Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore said, “We are very excited by the great response and support received from investors so far. The Industry Department has been working tirelessly for the last six-seven months to make Rajasthan an attractive destination for investment and this is the result of that.”
Increased confidence of investors
The state government will soon organise domestic and international road shows to meet national and global industrialists, corporates, international institutions etc. and invite them to invest in the state. Ajitabh Sharma, Principal Secretary (Industries), Government of Rajasthan said, “The tremendous enthusiasm of investors shows that investor confidence in Rajasthan and its potential has changed significantly during the last few months.
