Amidst the increasing number of road accidents, on the late night of 19 February yesterday, new people died in an accident in Rajasthan. A car of the processions, passing through a small culvert on the Chambal river in Kota, Rajasthan, fell into the Chambal river. 9 people including the groom have died in this accident. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police and the team of divers of the corporation reached the spot and started the rescue operation. At present, the bodies of all those who drowned in the river have been taken out.
According to the information, this procession was going from Chauth Ka Barwada to Ujjain. A passerby saw the incident that happened late night and informed the police control room. After this the team of divers of the corporation carried out the rescue operation the next morning. The car that fell into the river was pulled out with the help of a crane, till now all the dead bodies were taken out. The dead bodies are being kept in the mortuary of MBS.
PWD Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Jatav has been instructed to go to the spot.

Many leaders have expressed grief over this accident. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has condoled the incident and spoke to the District Collector and inquired about the relief work. Expressing grief over the incident, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot tweeted, “The death of 9 people including the groom after the car of the processions in Kota fell into the Chambal river is very sad and unfortunate. After talking to the collector, information has been taken about the entire incident. My deepest sympathies are with the bereaved family, may God give them strength to bear this loss, may the soul of the departed rest in peace.”

On the other hand, BJP MP from Kota Om Birla wrote in a tweet that the death of many people is heartbreaking due to the car falling into the Chambal river in Kota parliamentary constituency.
