Jaipur. This time new records of heat are being made one after another in Rajasthan. On Tuesday, the mercury of the thermometer reached 50.5 degrees in Churu. The last such heat in the month of May in Churu was in 2019. Then the temperature was recorded at 50.8 degrees. After Churu, Sri Ganganagar of western Rajasthan also left Phalodi behind. The temperature there was recorded at 49.4 degrees Celsius. The mercury of the thermometer remained stuck at 49 degrees in Pilani and Phalodi. In Bikaner, Kota, Jaisalmer, Jaipur and Barmer too, the sky kept raining fire. The Meteorological Department warned of heat wave for two more days. Today a red alert of heat wave has been issued in 8 districts. After that, there is a possibility of getting relief from it on 31 May.
According to the weather department, this period of extreme heat will continue for two more days. On Tuesday, the mercury in Churu broke the record of Phalodi and went ahead. Apart from Churu in western Rajasthan, Pilani also broke the 25-year-old record of heat in the month of May. The mercury in Pilani was 49 degrees on Tuesday. Earlier, it had reached 48.6 degrees Celsius on 2 May 1999.

The temperature might rise further now
The weather department has forecast the weather for the next two days and said that there will be no relief from the heat yet. During the next two days, the temperature may increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state. A new western disturbance will become active in Rajasthan from May 31. Due to its effect, there may be light rain with thunder in some places in the northern parts of the state. These activities of storm and rain may continue in the western and northern areas on June 1 and 2 as well.
Light rain expected after two days
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heat wave in eight districts today and has appealed to be cautious. Due to the activation of a new western disturbance, strong surface winds may blow in some parts of the state for the next three to four days. There is a possibility of light rain in Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions on May 31 and in Jaipur, Bharatpur, Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions on June 1 and 2.
