National Kho Kho Championship: The National Kho-Kho Championship started on 27 March. 73 teams comprising of more than 1300 male and female players from 37 states/union territories across the country have participated in this championship. Maharashtra has won the championship trophy in both women’s and men’s group groups. India TV Chairman Rajat Sharma attended its closing ceremony today. Rajat Sharma called Kho-Kho a game made on the soil of the country.
During the final match of the 56th National Kho-Kho Championship held at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, India TV Chairman Rajat Sharma said that Kho-Kho is a game made on the soil of India, it has been received as a heritage and it is being taken forward. There is a need to take it to international level. Kho-Kho Sports Association President Sudhanshu Mittal has made a lot of efforts in this field. During his tenure, Kho-Kho has reached a new level. He said that Kho-Kho is being played in 137 countries today. The World Championship competition is going to be held in England next year. India will definitely perform better in this. India’s Kho-Kho has definitely improved a lot.

On this occasion, Kho-Kho Federation President Sudhanshu Mittal said that today Kho-Kho is reaching new heights. Apart from the players and the coach, the team also contributes a lot in that. Continuous work is being done to ensure that Kho-Kho remains on the path of progress day by day. BJP Rajya Sabha MP Prof. Sudhanshu Trivedi, present in the program, said that Kho-Kho game involves teamwork. Unless the partner calls ‘Kho’, if the other player gets up before that then it becomes a wrong bet and this applies not only to sports but to many areas.
Maharashtra won the trophy in both categories
In the women’s category, the final match was played between Maharashtra and Airport Authority of India. In this match, Maharashtra team defeated Airport Authority of India by 18-16 and won the women’s championship trophy by two points. Maharashtra captain Sampada Maurya performed brilliantly in the entire match. Maharashtra team was successful in winning the hearts of the fans.
In the men’s category, an excellent final match was played between Maharashtra and Railways. Till the scheduled time, the match between the two teams remained tied at 32-32 points. Due to the points being equal, the second match was played in one innings. Which was completely exciting. Right from the beginning of the second match, the Railways team started taking the lead. After 9 minutes, Railways played the role of attacker and added a total of 50 points for their team. Later, Maharashtra team played the role of attacker and reached the mark of 50-50 in the eighth minute. In the last moment of the match, Maharashtra won the match by scoring 52 points.
